Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
I’ve been impressed with Lookman all season. He is skilled, hard working and dangerous. I would take him tomorrow.

If you watch the West Ham tv highlights of the match , just after lookmann takes it and it's floating in the air like a Diana Ross miss hit , someone (probably Parker ) shouts
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
They said afterwards Mitrovic had a slight hamstring injury so didnt fancy the penalty
A decision he probably regrets

AREOLA had a decent game in goal. Obviously things could have gone TITS UP for him

, I agree about the Fulham keeper; I thought he played well.

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Saw something about the percentage of penalties that went in in the 90s

93/94 season there were 82 pens. Only two did not go in.

Bit before my time but that is a crazy record when you compare it to penalties being taken today?

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Lookman (unfortunate name) was very good in the first half, then quiet in the second half. Quite why he took the penalty I will not understand.

Why did Mitrovic not take it? Yes, he'd missed one before but so what?

As for the penalty, if you attempt what Lookman did you'd better score. I'd expect that sort of penalty from a seasoned international, not someone of his lack of experience. By the time he took it he looked timid. Served the arrogant little twat right. Surely, last kick of the game, with all the adrenalin he had running through his body, high and hard was the right kick.

Thought he deserved all the shit he got from us. Thoroughly memorable.

Another example of a Penalty that wouldn't have stood pre-VAR and some justice there in that respect.
Lookman did otherwise have a good game but seems like it went to his head. Nobody but Nobody does that in the 95th minute of a game where you are 1-0 down. He'll forever be in every 'Top 10 worst Penalties' list for it and hopefully it knocks some of the arrogance out of him.

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Keepers don't like penalty takers taking the piss by chipping them so quite rightly Fabianski had a go at him
Rice was nearby so celebrated the miss by getting in his face as an instant reaction. Good
When the game was over Balbuena felt sorry for him. Can live with that. Hopefully he thanked him too.

What I did like is as soon as Fabianksi caught it , Benrahma turned and sprinted down field to be ready for a throw to him. Staying switched on. Also good
Diop scuffing up the spot. Good thinking
WE ARE IN DANGER OF TURNING INTO A PROFESSIONAL TEAM RATHER BEING ONE THAT BENDS OVER FOR ALL THE CHEATS WE FACE

To be fair to Rice, had there been fans in the stadium, we'd have all been giving Lookman the big double wanker signs and laughing *metaphorically* in his face.

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Don't like what Rice did but don't blame Fabianski. The only reason players try that penalty is to make themselves look good by mugging off the keeper. When it is successful, the keeper looks like a right plank. Can't blame the goalie for giving a bit back when it doesn't come off.

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Fabianski gave Lookman a bit of stick aswell.

Thought very out of character for him but good to see.

He would of been lapping it up if he had scored that. Way too cocky to be trying that last kick of the game.

Not sure Fulham will be going down, but if they do we should nab the goalie, Antonee Robinson and throw Lookman in too.

So what if Rice got in his face. Fucking right. Arrogant little twat. You try that and fuck it up then you deserve a bollocking. Nice to see one of our players with a bit of bollocks about him to give it to him.

Fuck Lookman and fuck Fulham. They deserved fuck all from the game anyway.

Also nice to see Balbuena console him at the end.

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
As others have said you have to be a PDC or that standard to pull it off. Never understood players who pfaff about taking a penalty. I used to blast them low to the keepers right, right in the corner and only missed a couple. Just put your foot through it Ray Stewart or Dicksy style. If it's on target at least the keeper has o make a good save.

Rice showed his real Chelsea colours there, sadly.

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
I just watched it again - it is Rice that runs towards him and shouts "yes" or whatever in his face. Seems out of character for Rice. Benrahma gives him a consolation slap on the back and like FB said, Balbuena goes to console him.

Balbuena was a real class act.

Put the others to shame really.

Cresswell certainly went to Lookman to give it large in his face, and then decided it would be better not to.

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Watching on motd for a split second after the pen you see Rice celebrate and it looks like it was right in the face of Lookman. But I didn't re watch it. Did I imagine that?

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Geeps, arrogance has its place. Take Di Canio, Payet, Arnie. We all adore an audacious talent.

From what I understand, Lookman's boot hit the turf before the ball - probably due to Diop scuffing up the penalty spot whilst the melee was going on. Diop deserves an assist for that

Re: Lookman- crap penalty but very good player.
Arrogance has fucked up many a decent player - if Rigobert Song hadn't thought he was a miles better player than he actually was, he'd be remembered a lot more fondly.

If Alex Song had scaled his arrogance down as he became a lesser player through age, ditto.

There are lots who aren't called Song.

If I was Parker I'd still have him by the throat.... absolute dickhead of the highest order
